The wake-up call
His site scored 85 out of 100 on a standard SEO audit — fast, mobile-friendly, technically sound by every classic metric. Then he asked ChatGPT and Google AI who the best provider near him was. His business never came up. Competitors with weaker websites did.
He built a structured process to find out why, and closed the gap for his own business first. That process turned out to have nothing to do with his industry.
